You were correct in separating the birds. Never allow one bird to attack or bully another. It's very unusual for the female keet to turn on her mate like this. Keep the cages next to each other. When you see the birds interacting through the bars, you can again put them together. If there is an sign of fighting, again place the birds in separate cages. As the young come out of the nest, place them in their own cage -- not with the father. You can't be sure that he will recognize them as his own offspring. Don't put the father back in with the mother until all the young are in a separate cage. : Mama keet had 7 eggs.Five hatched.Dad was feeding mama and all was well until a few days ago when mama realized that others eggs weren't going to hatch. She became very aggressive towards dad!She jumps on the front of him and claws and bites.she even dangles him upside down by his tail.I got another cage for him yesterday and when I went to put him in it I found him bleeding around his bill nd down the front of him.Mama has quieted down now.dad seems sad .the cages are near so they can see each other. Will dad be able to go back with mama?do the babies stay in cage with mama as they come out of the nest box,or should they go with dad?Should mamam, dad and babies all be together? Thanks for help! Kathy
