: One of our female parakeets has lost her beak completely and the other parakeets, all male, put food in their mouth and then into hers. She appears healthy otherwise. She is the offspring of the other only female in our aviary who also lost her beak but it grew back. Is there something we can give this one to help the beak return?
Hello Kirsten:
I don't know too much about parakeets as I have a male canary who is my only pet. But I would take the females away from the males or keep a careful watch before the bird is hurt badly. I don't know too much about birds loseing their beaks. I do know of a case what a pet love bird bit the bottom off of a canary and the canary had to be fed only soft food after that. Make sure you bird is able to get enough nourishment.

Do you know if her beak was bitten off and who did it?

Good Luck and please keep us posted.
Grace
