I do hope you can help me - i love him to bits. Hello Marion: Also this is the time of year canaries start to molt and when they molt they lose feathers and stop singing. So he may be molting unless you actually see him pulling feathers. Try what I suggest and see how he does and if he is molting. If he is molting get some molting food for him. Try what I suggest and I am sure he will be ok. Also don't get another bird until after the fall and keep them in the same room but maybe across from one another not in the same cage because male canaries like their own space.
