: My parakeets finally successfully hatched a baby bird, it's feathers are just starting to come in. It is in a nesting box in my aviary. The mother is now letting the other birds (I have 6 adult parakeets) enter the box. Is this normal or will the harm the baby. What should I do?Hello Theresa: I wish I know more about Parakeets. I do thing you thoughts are the same as mine I would not let the others come in contact with the baby. I would take the other birds out and see if the Mother feeds the baby and if not you will have to feed it until it is okd enough to eat inself. Or if the Father will feed the baby let him do it but watch the situation and if necessary you will have to find out what to feed a baby and hand feed it yourself. I am sorry I could not be more help but I wish you Good Luck. Grace
