: I have 4 canaries. One has been a big singer until I put him in the cage with 3 other canaries. Now he won't sing at all. I know one of the others is a girl and the 2 peach siblings aren't old enough to know for sure which sex they are. They all get along well enough, but I am wondering why the singer has gone mute?! I'd really like to keep them all together in the aviary (as opposed to separating him out). Hello: Male canaries like their own space. The are loners and only like to be with other canaries at the time of the year that they breed. Take your male and put him back in his own cage and he will sign again unless he is molting. Unless you want to breed then I adbise you to get a book and read up on breeding. Also the breeding season is coming to an end soon. |
