: If canary eggs are not fertile will you see the yolk with the flashlight or can you see the yolk either way ? My female glouster canary has 5 eggs in her nest and i cant tell if they will hatch or not i tryed the light trick and i can see a yolk and it's clear around it...what does that mean?? Thank you Hello Shelly: How long has she been sitting on the eggs. Does she have a male canary that she was with. If there is not a male there is no way those eggs could be fertile. I there is no possibility that they can be fertile I would let her sit on them until she decides to move off otherwise she will lay more eggs. I am not an expert on this sort of thing as I only own 1 canary as a pet. Try to find a book that you can get this information from. Linda Hogan wrote a book that tell you a lot about canaries so if you visit her site you can find some answers. Linda is a wonderful canary expert. Good Luck and let us know how you made out. Grace
