: My mother's canary laid an egg yesterday, she is in the same cage with a parakeet. Is this the result of the two birds mating? The parakeet ate yesterday;s egg and the canary has laid another one today. My mom has had the canary for many years now and it is the first time she has laid eggs. The parakeet has been in the cage with the canary for only two months now. Is this possible? Hello: I honestly do not know but maybe the Parakeet and Canary did mate. Please Please separate these birds to different cages. A Parakeet and Canary should never be in a cage together. The Parakeet could wind up killing your canary and I don't think you want that. Never put even 2 canaries in the same cage together co please separate them. |
