: My bought a female parakeet and when i got home, i noticed that her beak was deformed. Her lower beak was twisted to the right and her upper beak was twisted to the left; another problem, her beak grows a lot! and i just noticed yesterday that her upper beak had grown down until her throat! I asked my mom for some help because i thought she was gonna die if it grew more, so she broke the beak (not all, just until normal size)and now she is fine, but my question is, how did she get this type of beak? Who did it?
: Thanks very much for your help.
Hello Sergio:
It is hard to say how that could have happened to her beak. Is she very young. Since you just purchased her she could be or should be young. She may have had an accident and banged her beak. You will just have to watch her carefully and as long as her beak is ok do not worry but if the beak get the same way again your Mom will fix it I am sure.
Good Luck and please keep us posted.
Grace
