Thanks to everyone for your advice! He's still not comfortable with me, but I think with time he might come around. I just try to talk to him and give him as much attention I can without scaring him. Should I just wait it out and see if he mellows out? : : : I just got a Parakeet a few days ago, but every time I come near the cage, it slims up and gets really scared. I don't want to try to force it to let me hold it because I don't want to traumatize it, but I don't know how to make it get used to me. I sit and talk to it and I whistle, but it just sits silently on its perch and glares. Any tips for a new bird owner? : Victoria, |
