: Our canary as changed over the last 6 weeks….he has become quite aggressive when we approach his cage. He lefts up his wing in and dives bombs and attacks your hand. He sits right up at the top of is cage, before he use to sit at the side of his mirror and sing all day…what going on in his head? Hello Les: First of all I would take the morrow out of the cage. Mirrors are not recommended for canaries. They are good for Parakeets. I can't tell you why he is not singing unless he is molting. Do you notice any feathers falling in the cage. This is the time of year for them to molt and they can be very nervous at this time. They need to be kept quiet and they need more rest. As far as hus going after your hand it may be because he is getting tame. Why don't you try holding your hand very still when he does that and see if he will land on it but try not to scare him. I think he is ok and if you try being extra friendly to him you may find him to be very tame. let us know howyou make out when you try these things out. But please take the morror out because he thinks it is another bird in the mirror and that can drive him crazy. Good Luck, Grace
