: : I'm wondering if it is too cold to leave my bugdies outside so as not to disturb them and discourage them from breeding. What temperature is too cold at night for me to leave them?: Hello Christopher: : First of all are you from the Northeast such as New Jersey and New York? It has been very cold here in New Jersey and I never keep my canary outdoors. It would worry me too much if I thought it was too cold. : Maybe someone else here has a better answer for you. : Good Luck and please keep us posted. : Grace Christopher, I live in Idaho and we have nights that have gotten to 20-30 below 0 and I keep my budgies outside. This has been their 3rd year outside. I do offer 2 heating lamps that they can get as close to as they need. However if they are not already used to it wait until it is warm then move them outside. Come next winter they will adjust to the cold. If they have nest boxes the cold will not stop them from trying to breed. I hope this has helped. Jodi
