I don't want to try to force it to let me hold it because I don't want to traumatize it, but I don't know how to make it get used to me. I sit and talk to it and I whistle, but it just sits silently on its perch and glares. Any tips for a new bird owner? Jody and Patti are absolutely correct in what they tell you. You have to have patience and give your little bird time to get to know you and get used to the new surroundings. You eventually will have a nice tame little friend if you take it slow and be gentle with him. |
