I put the male in with the female(after they were showing interest with eachother). They fed eachother, but didn't mate. I put the nest in the cage after three days. The "male" sat in the nest for 10 to 15 min at a time on and off for a week. I watched them often from a distance and not once did "he" mate with her, in fact "he" acted afraid of her and kept a distance from her. After a week(Feb. 15-20)I removed "him" from her cage. After waiting a few days I moved "him" close to another female and he showed interest. I placed her into "his" cage, thought it might give him confidence to be in his own cage, and "he" will have nothing to do with her. "He" sings great, but dosen't seem to know what to do in a ladys company. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I do so want to raise some babies this season. Last season my male died, and I bought this "male" after breeding season was over. He sings so I don't expect to get a refund. I want to keep him as a singer but he dosen't seem to have any interest in breeding. I give fresh seed and vitamins, oil, seedies(by Kellogg)boiled egg, apple, green pepper, bananna, carrott, boiled sweet potato, fresh water. Am I missing something or are some "males" celebit?
