In Reply to: IS THERE A SPECIFIC MONTH WHEN CANARIES START MATING? posted by wendy on October 24, 19100 at 22:41:10:
: I have one male and one female canary. When I put the two birds together, the male stops singing. After 4 months of silence and no breeding, I have separated the birds. To my surprise, the male started singing immediately. So now I would like to know, during what month should I pair up my birds for mating season? I do know that his singing is a mating call?
Canaries should be getting the same number of hours of light each day as there is in daylight. Then canaries naturally come into breeding condition in February or April.
