: i have just started to keep budgies and canaries can u tell me when are the best times for breeding these birdsand also if i put a male budgie in with two f emale budgies how do i know which one he willl breed with if any
Though they do best in the Spring, keets breed all year long.
Canaries should only be bred in the Spring and Summer.
If you put one male keet with two hens, the hens will fight constantly. You'd be much better off placing the second hen in a second cage with another male.
With canaries, you can move the male in with a different hen each day, but each hen must be in its own cage.
